Thu 14 May 2009 - Altogether now in Romsey website launch
A new website for Romsey was launched at the Old House at Home on Tuesday 12th May. The website, www.altogether-romsey.co.uk is an exciting new venture providing local people and visitors with a complete and easy to use online guide to living, leisure and work in Romsey.
It was appropriate that Karen Dunleavey, in one of her last acts as Mayor, should be the person to launch the website, particularly as her “Working Together” initiative inspired the “Altogether Romsey” project.
The website has been built and funded by local web development company Rendili, and its aims are to provide local information on where to buy, what to do and what’s on offer as well as promoting Romsey as a tourist destination by means of up to date events, reviews and articles.
Managing director, Sean Douch said, “we saw a need for this when we couldn’t find any information online about playgroups in the Romsey area. We hope that as content is added to the website it will become a valuable resource for Romsonians and tourists alike.”
Easy addition of website content is where www.altogether-romsey.co.uk will truly excel as a highly visible community asset. Steve Bratt, marketing spokesman for Rendili said, “people are able to sign up their business, organisation or event now for free, and will soon be able to upload articles, reviews and documents as the site’s functionality develops, helping to keep the site looking fresh and the search ranking high.”
The www.altogether-romsey.co.uk project will provide opportunities for local organisations and businesses to promote special offers to the online community, easing the speed to market, with no financial outlay. It will give small businesses and organisations in Romsey, visibility, vital for survival in these recession hit times.
